Poems on Innocence

flowers

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

by William Blake (1)

Child-like innocence,
Saint-like purity
Are divinely one
In reality-sea,
In vision-sun
And cosmic-run.

Sri Chinmoy (2)

Innocence is man’s
God-given possession.
Arrogance is man’s
Self-styled possession.

Sri Chinmoy (3)

The dance of pretense
Never ends.
The song of innocence
Never begins.

Sri Chinmoy (4)

The heart’s innocence
Eventually conquers
The mind’s insolence,
The body’s indolence.

Sri Chinmoy (5)

Innocence
Is
Eternally praiseworthy.

Sri Chinmoy (6)
