So What is Love?

Filed under: love — Tejvan Pettinger @ 7:40 pm

So what is love? If thou wouldst know
The heart alone can tell:
Two minds with but a single thought,
Two hearts that beat as one.

And whence comes Love? Like morning bright
Love comes without thy call.
And how dies Love? A spirit bright,
Love never dies at all.

  1. What a lovely and most beautiful poem. I think the author is Friedrich Halm, if I am not mistaken. Thank-you for posting.

  4. “Love never dies at all”

Love dies and survives again, but stays its Spirit true,
if not in me, then it’s in you.

When I let my love to dye, I am left with a desert inside,
so quickly I have to water what is left,
    even if it’s nothing,
it is enough to grow my visionary cactus of love there-
with pricles of non love and only one bud of love.

When I let my love to live…
Oh, let me leave my love inside.
