The Right to Happiness

“…Is the right to happiness a human right? Without the least possible hesitation I venture to answer this question in the affirmative. Each man has a soul. Each man has a goal. His soul silently tells him that his perennial Source is all happiness. His goal lovingly tells him that in his constant God-manifestation is his own happiness…”

Every Human Being Thinks

“Every human being thinks
that he is not loved enough,
and that he is not understood properly and fully.
Can I be of any help to them?”
“No, My son. If they feel
that they are not loved and understood,
then tell them to give Me a chance.
Let them try Me.”

Excerpt from My Lord’s Secrets Revealed by Sri Chinmoy.

Limited and Unlimited

Limited is the power of the vital.
I am sure by this time
You have known it.
Equally limited is the power of the mind.
I am sure by this time
You have realised it.
But unlimited is the power of the heart.
You will realise it
Before long.

Your Constant Feeling of Unworthiness

“My Lord, are You ever sick

of my complaints?”

“No, I am not. But I am sick

of your constant feeling of unworthiness.”

Three Temples

In the temple of Night
I saw who I was.
In the temple of light
I have seen what I can
Eventually be.
In the temple of delight
I see what I eternally am:
God’s own Dream-boat.

How can I never have any fear?

Question: How can I never have any fear?

Sri Chinmoy: Through oneness, oneness, oneness. If you throw a tennis ball, does the tennis ball have any fear? If you are on the third floor and you throw the tennis ball down to the street, it is you who may have fear. You may be afraid that the tennis ball will hurt someone or that it may get lost or that something will happen to it. But the tennis ball has no fear.

We have to feel that God is playing with us like a tennis ball, throwing us here and there. But, in God’s case, He does it consciously. You are His instrument. He knows that He will be able to trace you, no matter where He throws you. He also knows that you are not going to break. If He knew that you would break, would He throw you?

Your Aspiration-Cry

So divinely sweet and pure
Is your aspiration-cry
That it is dancing freely
In Heaven’s Ecstasy-Sky.

Spirituality - A Talk

“At the dawn of his spiritual awakening, a child asks his mother, “Where is God?” The mother immediately answers, “God is in Heaven.” Then the child asks, “Where is Heaven?” The mother’s immediate answer is, “Heaven is up in the sky.” The child is satisfied; he feels that his mother’s answer is quite adequate. Then, when the child grows older and goes to a church for religious training, the child asks his teacher the same question: “Where is God?” The teacher may say that God is in Heaven or that God is in the child’s own heart. Years later, when the child enters into his young adulthood, he may want to go deep within and see for himself where God is. Then eventually he comes to hear about spiritual Teachers who have realised God. He goes to a spiritual Master and asks about God’s authenticity. When he is convinced that God does exist, his immediate question is, “Where is God?” The spiritual Master will tell him that God is everywhere and in everything. But until the seeker has realised God himself, this will be just mental knowledge. He must go deep within in order to feel these truths. ”

God-Realisation

God-realisation
Is the most difficult attainment.
Who denies it?
Nobody.
Life-perfection
Is the most difficult achievement.
Alas, nobody wants to admit it.
Nobody wants to try it.

Excerpt from Three Hundred Sixty-Five Father’s Day Prayers by Sri Chinmoy.

True Spirituality

“There are people who say that spirituality is not meant for this world or this outer life. There are people who say that spirituality should be practised only in the evening of one’s life—that is to say, after having had all the experiences that the outer world can give, one should enter into the inner life. But these opinions are not true. Spirituality can and should be practised irrespective of place and time. Anybody on earth can practise the spiritual life. The spiritual life can never be an artificial life. The spiritual life is something which is natural and spontaneous. …”
