“Try not to change the world. You will fail. Try to love the world. Lo, the world is changed. Changed forever.”

by Sri Chinmoy (1)

“There will come a time when this world of ours will be flooded with peace. Who will bring about this radical change? It will be you – you and your sisters and brothers. You and your oneness-heart will spread peace throughout the length and breadth of the world.”

- Sri Chinmoy (2)

I tried to change myself;
I badly failed.
I tried to change the world;
To my wide surprise,
The world had achieved
Its perfection-light long before
I made my surrendered attempt.
I failed to change my life
Because
I mixed too much
With my Master, Ego,
With my Disciple, Doubt.

by Sri Chinmoy (3)

“My dark ignorance wants to change God. My feeble knowledge wants to change the world. My humble wisdom wants to change my entire life.”

by Sri Chinmoy (4)

My mind’s supremacy
Wants to change the world.
My heart’s ecstasy
Wants to arrange the world.

by Sri Chinmoy (5)

“Who can change the world? Not he who just talks. Not he who just does. Not he who says and does. Not he who does and says. But he who eternally is.”

- Sri Chinmoy (6)

“A false religion wants to change the face of the world by any means, even by foul means—by hook or by crook. A true religion wants only to love soulfully the heart of the world. A false religion will try to exercise its Himalayan Supremacy over other religions.”

- Sri Chinmoy (7)

“The power of love and caring can change the world.” – James Autry

Commentary by Sri Chinmoy – There can be nothing more beautiful, more truthful, more inspiring and more illumining than this loftiest divinity-flooded utterance.

Sri Chinmoy (8)

We can change the world,
But not improve it,
If we do not have peace.

“Why do we need religion? We need religion because we want to go beyond the finite in order to commune with the Infinite. This is not only possible but also inevitable, for in us there is a conscious being which envisions God’s Reality in totality.”

- Sri Chinmoy (1)

“Religion is a spontaneous experience and never a theoretical knowledge. This experience is immensely practical, and we can use it consciously at every moment of our earthly existence.”

- Sri Chinmoy (1)

“Religion has two lives: the outer and the inner. It offers its outer life to seekers in the preliminary stage of vital and emotional aspiration. It offers its inner life to the universal meditation and God-realisation.”

- Sri Chinmoy (1)

“People say that science and religion are always at daggers drawn. This need not be true. Science plays its role dynamically in explaining the immanent God. Religion plays its role divinely in interpreting the transcendent God. Science deals with the physical world, while religion deals with the inner and spiritual world.”

- Sri Chinmoy (1)

“All religions are in essence one, inseparable. Each religion is an unfailing path leading to the eternal Truth and is a proper manifestation of that Truth. … Religion is one. But it expresses itself through many, through the teeming religions.”

- Sri Chinmoy (1)

“No religion is absolutely perfect. Yet not only do we fight for religion, but also are we often willing to sacrifice our lives for it. And what we hopelessly fail to do is to live it. A true religion is that which has no caste, no creed, no colour. It is but an all-uniting and all-pervading embrace.”

- Sri Chinmoy (2)

http://www.srichinmoylibrary.com/books/3004/2/58

“In religion, the feeling of oneness-heart has to prevail, and nothing else. Religion is not a matter of reason. If we live in our oneness-heart, we will feel the essence of all religions, which is love of God. But if we live in the mind, we will only try to separate one religion from another and see how their ideologies differ. It is the heart that can have a true intuitive understanding of the height and breadth of all religions. It is the heart that sees and feels the inner harmony and oneness of all religions.”

- Sri Chinmoy (2)

“True religion has a universal quality. It does not find fault with other religions. False religions will find fault with other religions; they will say that theirs is the only valid religion and their prophet is the only saviour. But a true religion will feel that all the prophets are saviours of mankind. Forgiveness, compassion, tolerance, brotherhood and the feeling of oneness are the signs of a true religion.”

- Sri Chinmoy (3)

“Human religion and divine religion. Human religion says, “God is everywhere.” Divine religion says, “God is everywhere, I don’t deny it. I fully subscribe to this view. But I want a living God with whom I can talk and mix at every moment. I want to feel Him. I want to see Him. I want to speak to Him. I want a living God.” This is the soulful need of divine religion.”

The whole world is looking for miracles.
Every day it is dying to see miracles.
But can there be any miracle
More challenging, more illumining
And more fulfilling
Than to see and feel the infinite Beauty
Of my Beloved Supreme
Inside this tinier than the tiniest
Gratitude-heart of mine?

Sri Chinmoy [3]

“The greatest miracle is to remain for one extra second in a divine consciousness. If you can remain one second more in a divine consciousness, then that is the supreme miracle on earth. Miracles will not help you achieve God-realisation. Far from it. In fact, miracles can create all kinds of problems.”
