At last I now have peace of mind:
My fault-finding eyes nowhere I find.
- Sri Chinmoy (1)
My Lord Supreme,
How can I maintain my inner strength?
“My child,
You can maintain your inner strength
Only by having peace of mind.”
My Lord Supreme,
How can I have peace of mind?
“My child,
To have peace of mind
What you need
Is purity in the body, the vital
And the mind itself.”
- Sri Chinmoy (2)
I get peace of mind
The moment I ask my mind
To stop running
And I ask my heart
To start singing.
Sri Chinmoy (3)
“Peace is man’s greatest and highest blessing. Man thinks that he can get everything with prosperity; but if he is wanting in peace, then he is the worst possible beggar. We say “peace of mind,” but actually we do not have peace in the mind. By staying in the mind, we can never have even a glimpse of peace. When we want peace, we have to go beyond the realm of the mind. How can we go beyond the mind? It is through our constant aspiration. That aspiration will enable us to collect the mind like a bundle and throw it into the sea of the heart. Then we will see that our mind, vital and physical—our whole existence—will be inundated with inner peace.”
- Sri Chinmoy (4)

Death is not the end
Death can never be the end.
Death is the road.
Life is the traveller.
The Soul is the Guide
…
Our mind thinks of death.
Our heart thinks of life
Our soul thinks of Immortality.
- By: Sri Chinmoy Excerpt from Talk – Is Death the End? My Rose Petals 1
Death, why do you live?
“I live because
Your human life needs divine rest,
Your human life deserves supreme rest
After you have fought
In the battlefield of life.”
Death, when will you die?
“I shall die
The moment
Bondage and ignorance
Forget your life
And the life of Earth.”
Excerpt from The Silence Of Death by Sri Chinmoy

My Lord,
If I dislike someone vehemently,
What is the best way to deal with
That person?
“My child,
There is not just one,
But there are many ways
To deal with that person:
“First,
Do not express
Your volcanic anger.
“Second,
Think and feel
That you have the capacity
To mould and shape that person
Into a perfectly lovely human losing.
“Third,
Discard all your preconceived ideas
And judgements about the person,
For if you cherish hostile attitudes
Towards any person,
Then your own hostility
Will devour you.
“Next,
Just imagine that right now
Your so-called enemy is having
Nice thoughts about you.
Not only that,
To your wide surprise, your enemy
Is speaking highly of you
To others.
“Finally,
Ask your mind to be a peace-maker.
Ask your heart to be a peace-lover.
Ask yourself to be a peace-observer
Here and everywhere
In the Eternal Now.”
Excerpt from Morning Prayers And Poems On War by Sri Chinmoy
March 12th, 2010 — peace-
My heart dreams of peace, while my mind dreams of supremacy.
~
Peace is the child of compassion, and not the son of compromise.
~
Peace does not command my mind. It just illumines my mind.
~
When my mind breathes in peace even for a fleeting minute, my heart starts dancing with the flying wings of the wind.
~
Accumulation is not and can never be peace.
~
Man-critics and God-critics will never have an iota of peace.
~
Peace is a stranger to the rigid mind. Peace is a guest of the flexible heart.

“Try not to change the world. You will fail. Try to love the world. Lo, the world is changed. Changed forever.”
by Sri Chinmoy (1)
“There will come a time when this world of ours will be flooded with peace. Who will bring about this radical change? It will be you – you and your sisters and brothers. You and your oneness-heart will spread peace throughout the length and breadth of the world.”
- Sri Chinmoy (2)

March 5th, 2010 — quotes-
“Why do we need religion? We need religion because we want to go beyond the finite in order to commune with the Infinite. This is not only possible but also inevitable, for in us there is a conscious being which envisions God’s Reality in totality.”
- Sri Chinmoy (1)
“Religion is a spontaneous experience and never a theoretical knowledge. This experience is immensely practical, and we can use it consciously at every moment of our earthly existence.”
- Sri Chinmoy (1)
“Religion has two lives: the outer and the inner. It offers its outer life to seekers in the preliminary stage of vital and emotional aspiration. It offers its inner life to the universal meditation and God-realisation.”
- Sri Chinmoy (1)
“People say that science and religion are always at daggers drawn. This need not be true. Science plays its role dynamically in explaining the immanent God. Religion plays its role divinely in interpreting the transcendent God. Science deals with the physical world, while religion deals with the inner and spiritual world.”
- Sri Chinmoy (1)
“All religions are in essence one, inseparable. Each religion is an unfailing path leading to the eternal Truth and is a proper manifestation of that Truth. … Religion is one. But it expresses itself through many, through the teeming religions.”

March 4th, 2010 — spirituality-
“….But there is another way to look at forgiveness. God wants us to be at a certain height so that we can receive His Affection, Love, Compassion and Blessings, but right now we are not at that level. So God is begging us: “Just raise your consciousness an iota and come up to this level. Then I will be able to give you My Love, My Compassion and My Blessings.” Our human mind may call it forgiveness, but God is not thinking about our inner and outer crimes. He just wants us to raise our consciousness so that we will increase our receptivity and oneness with Him. Then he will be able to give us more Compassion, more Light and more Love….”

March 2nd, 2010 — poems-
Self-pity does not
Console one’s mind.
Self-pity cannot
Strengthen one’s heart.
Self-pity only makes one
A real stranger to oneself.
by Sri Chinmoy (1)
~
Self-interest, self-pity
And self-indulgence:
These words are not to be found
Any more
In my life-dictionary.
by Sri Chinmoy (2)
~
Self-pity is, indeed,
A wasted pity.
But self-concern is undoubtedly
A rewarding and illumining experience.

The outer man
Cries to increase
His earthly power.
The inner man
Cries to increase
The world’s happiness.
